Archery Enchantress - Viability and Gear?

I recently found a very interesting bow which made me think my Enchantress could maybe,
just maybe make it a somewhat viable PVM character, instead of just staying in town passively
waiting to enchant other chars.

This thread is sort of 20% guide and 80% just me hoping for advice / experience others might
have had with a build like this. (To my surprise I didn’t really find a decent guide for something like this)

-

Kuko Shakaku

Most notable is the Explosive Arrows being fired that very often also
completely pierce enemies distributing the damage of our enchant much
better than if we we’re to just hit a single target.
(Sort of making us shoot what feels like a mix of fireball and bonespear)

Kuko Shakaku in Action

With pretty bad enchant gear (pretty much only a Leaf staff) and Synergies not even fully levelled
my lvl 59 makes it to ca 3k damage per shot (according to char screen).
Which is enough to run around in Nightmare and sort of
reasonably kill enemies. Hell is undoable with current gear level though.

(In normal you're just one-shotting everything which is lotsa fun.)

So my thinking goes

With good enchant gear we should have decent fire damage
on our bow and also on our merc to hit the monsters with. And if we level her to 85
we would have 31 leftover Skillpoints. What do you guys reckon
would be best here? Put it in Cold Orb + Cold Mastery to have
a second backup element? Put it in Energy shield to make use
of those 20 points in Warmth?

(Work in progress "Guide" below, will adjust accordingly)

Enchant Gear
Helm - Shako (?)
Amor - Fire Ormus with +3 Enchant / Viper
Gloves - Magefist + 1 fire
Belt - Arach
Leaf Staff - with +3 enchant +3 fire
Ammu - with +3 Fire

Battle Gear
Any ideas? :O What should I even be aiming for?
Boosts in Attack speed are very handy I guess? Can I completely neglect +skills now?

The runeword Leaf is an excellent way of getting a cheap boost to your enchant early on
raising your Enchant skill by up to 6 skillpoints.

Shopping for a Leaf staff with Drognan

Take a lvl 19 Character to Act 2 for a shopping spree with Drognan. Make sure the town exit
is next to him. If not make a new game. If you can get some faster walk gear on your character.
Also make sure you've got sufficient funds on your char. Walk back between him and the outside
of town and try to get a +3 Enchant staff with 2 Sockets. When you see a +2 Enchant 2 Socket staff
just get it as well. In case you run out of patience before you get that +3 Enchant.
(I shopped for 30 mins and didn't get a +3)

Note: After lvl 20 and onwards Drognan will not sell you non-magic staffs anymore

This is an interesting build, something I've seen before. Be sure to let us know how it works out

This seems awesome! Sadly the enchant damage is cut (by half?) with range weapons, but still looks like fun!

I would defintely get a cold shield up, Frozen Armor or Chilling (I like chilling), but frozen will save some skills.

I was thinking putting some into Thunderstorm, so it will nit-pick some random monster, and incase you have a fire immune. You can always go orb, but figured you can split 36 skills into Thunderstorm + Light mastery.

But to stay fire, not sure of any other skills that would work.

Best of luck!

Yeah you're right I realised by now that ranged enchanted weapon dmg gets cut by 1/3 even I think?
So I kind of switched the whole build around and now went for a pretty tanky mele enchanted sorc with Orb as a backup.
With lots of def and a decent Mana shield I can take a whole bunch of hits even with fairly bad resistances :D

Might update or do a new guide on the whole build soon
